THE NATURE WEAVERS (Eco-Club)

Welcome to Nature’s Club, a vibrant community at G.D Goenka, Dwarka dedicated to fostering a deep appreciation for the natural world. Our club is a haven for nature enthusiasts, environmentalists, and anyone passionate about preserving the beauty of our planet.

The club has been active in the school campus since April 2019.

Inculcation of love towards Mother Nature through the following activities
  • The students have set up a ‘Compost Pit’ to create biodegradable material to feed the school greens.
An initiative to recycle the paper waste generated within the school
  • The waste paper is recycled to make stationery itemseg: scribble pads, memo pads etc. paper mache, Bowls, Stationery holders, trays etc.for use.(administered by GreenOtech).
Educational Programs (Like Science on Wheels,Science exhibitions)
  • Focus on working models and projects that have an impact on environment and also help in nurturing the scientific bent of mind.
  • Nature Art/Slogans/Collage/Charts enable children to become aware of the variety of things available in their natural surroundings and how to use them without further damaging the environment.
Van Mahotsav 2019
  • Tree plantation activity was conducted on 20th August’19. Students helped beautify the school green’s by cleaning up the garden and planting saph5ngs with medicinal values.
  • Assigning scientific names and common names to the planted trees so that students know about Scientific Nomenclature.
Bonsai training programme
  • In general, symbolize harmony, peace, order of thoughts, balance and all that is good in nature Practical demonstration and explanation of the techniques of developing bonsai plants to the students given by the expertise. Some of the art pieces of bonsai have been displayed in the school greens.
  • Segregation of wastes: Waste generated in the school is segregated as biodegradable,non-biodegradable and e-waste. These wastes are managed by practicing the concept of 3R’s-Reduce,Recycle and Reuse.

I believe that every child has a unique innate light and nothing can dim the sheen that comes from within. At GD Goenka Public School, Sector-10, Dwarka we identify, nurture and celebrate that spark in the young inquisitive mind and take the child on an exploratory voyage to discover the world in all its splendour.

Our school is a fulcrum of holistic, integrative, experiential & inclusive learning experience where the student is positioned at the core of all collaboratively designed action. It is a relentless endeavour to bring to the platter a smorgasbord of scholastic and co-scholastic activities that pirouette around the school’s motto, ‘Higher, Stronger, Brighter’ and to ensure that our students receive the finest well-rounded education possible.

Our erudite team of mentors are the knights in shining armours to lead, guide and facilitate the learning process so that the Goenkans who pass out from our portals are morally upright, ethically strong, deeply rooted in cultural heritage and yet grow with a global outlook. Kudos to our mentors, who are always ready to go an extra mile to provide a coppice of reflective and pioneering thought process, a pivot of experiential learning. Thus, equipping the students with experiences that foster aptitude in critical thinking, problem solving and teamwork, and which have considerable value in promoting underlying attributes associated with being well-prepared for life, such as creativity, persistence, and the ability to communicate and collaborate.

To my lovely students, I would like to say that always believe in your innate spark and know that there is something inside you that is greater than any obstacle that comes your way. Hardships sharpen your abilities to be persistent, dedicated, and positive. Just like you can’t build a strong body without exercise, you can’t build a strong character without managing difficulties. In our late president Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam’s words, “Don’t fear failing in the first attempt because even successful maths starts with zero only” and to add to it, I will further say that never be afraid of dreaming big, dreams will fuel your surge to the infinite skies.

I also acknowledge the ardent involvement of community and parents to collectively encourage students' learning, to augment student outcomes and equip them with the proficiencies to surpass in a rapidly changing global landscape.

To conclude, I will summarise in the words of Gwendolyn Brooks “We are each other's harvest; we are each other's business; we are each other's magnitude and bond”. So, let us come together and strive to create a better world. Each individual spark when brought together can light up the darkest hour. Be that spark and let there be light!

'Second Position' at 'FIRST LEGO League'

Anushca Nagia class VII -A, has won 'best project research' award and secured 'second position' at 'FIRST LEGO League’ - north India robotics championship -National level Event held on 19-20 Jan,2019 at Manav Rachna International School- Faridabad.

Anushca Nagia along with her team members of 'Rock-iT’ will progress to represent India at upcoming FIRST LEGO League - American international robotics championship @ LEGOLAND, California.

Team Rock-iT successfully cleared all four stages of the competition: Project Presentation, Robot Design, Core Values and Robot Game.

'National Yog Sports Championship'

Vrinda Chopra of Class VI. Won Gold medal in 3rd National Yog Sports Championship organized by Yog Sports Association,India.

It was held in Haridwar on December 07th to 09th,2018.

'MAN OF THE MATCH in Gargi College '

Daksha Bhutani of class VII-A and Agastya Pandey of class VI D won ‘MAN OF THE MATCH’ Trophy in the Cricket Tournament played in Gargi College in the month of January 2019.

Bhavik Singh of class VI B was declared as a Best Player of the Tournament.

'National Level Essay Competition'

G. D. Goenka Public School, Dwarka bags I and II prize in Oil’s National Level Essay Competition,2018

Anannaya Dobriyal of class X A secured the Second Prize and an honorarium cash prize of Rs 15,000/- in Oil’s National Level Essay Competition, 2018.

Prathmesh Narayan Gupta of Class X A secured the First prize and an honorarium cash prize of Rs 20,000/- in Oil’s National Level Essay Competition, 2018
