Nature Club
THE NATURE WEAVERS (Eco-Club)
Welcome to Nature’s Club, a vibrant community at G.D Goenka, Dwarka dedicated to fostering a deep appreciation for the natural world. Our club is a haven for nature enthusiasts, environmentalists, and anyone passionate about preserving the beauty of our planet.
The club has been active in the school campus since April 2019.
Inculcation of love towards Mother Nature through the following activities
- The students have set up a ‘Compost Pit’ to create biodegradable material to feed the school greens.
An initiative to recycle the paper waste generated within the school
- The waste paper is recycled to make stationery itemseg: scribble pads, memo pads etc. paper mache, Bowls, Stationery holders, trays etc.for use.(administered by GreenOtech).
Educational Programs (Like Science on Wheels,Science exhibitions)
- Focus on working models and projects that have an impact on environment and also help in nurturing the scientific bent of mind.
- Nature Art/Slogans/Collage/Charts enable children to become aware of the variety of things available in their natural surroundings and how to use them without further damaging the environment.
Van Mahotsav 2019
- Tree plantation activity was conducted on 20th August’19. Students helped beautify the school green’s by cleaning up the garden and planting saph5ngs with medicinal values.
- Assigning scientific names and common names to the planted trees so that students know about Scientific Nomenclature.
Bonsai training programme
- In general, symbolize harmony, peace, order of thoughts, balance and all that is good in nature Practical demonstration and explanation of the techniques of developing bonsai plants to the students given by the expertise. Some of the art pieces of bonsai have been displayed in the school greens.
- Segregation of wastes: Waste generated in the school is segregated as biodegradable,non-biodegradable and e-waste. These wastes are managed by practicing the concept of 3R’s-Reduce,Recycle and Reuse.
